Vineyard Vines, Zara, Patagonia, Anthropologie….if you like a good label hunt, go to Forest & Found, a thrift store on the north side of Lake Forest. The store has a growing reputation for bargain prices on modern clothing labels with a little vintage mixed in. Now in its third year, the shop is located at 1363 N. Western Avenue.

“Yes, we are a bit off the beaten path, but Lake Forest College students have found everything from interview outfits to a memorable silk jacket for the school formal,” said Diana Durkes, store manager for Forest & Found. “Our goal is to stock quality, interesting pieces that make for a good treasure hunt.”

In addition to clothing, conscious shoppers can find housewares, seasonal and decorative lifestyle items ready for a second life. All profits from Forest & Found’s sales go to support the work of community charities Bernie’s Book Bank and A Safe Place.

Recently, LFC’s Alpha Tau Omega partnered with Forest & Found at a special weekend fundraiser. Members of the fraternity lent a hand at a Pop-Up shop inside Bernie’s Book Bank. “It was a fun success, and we couldn’t have done it without the willing group of ATO,” Durkes said.
