About
The Stentor is the official student newspaper of Lake Forest College. Established in 1887, the publication is printed bi-weekly throughout the academic year. StentorNews.com was launched in the spring of 2014 to complement the print edition. Student staff members are responsible for creating content for the newspaper, including balanced, fair stories and photographs for each section: News, Opinion, Feature and Sports.
The purpose of the Stentor is to provide the student body with information of relevance to their Lake Forest College experience and an outlet in which to responsibly express their opinions. Furthermore, the Stentor serves as a real-world opportunity for students to develop skills in writing, photography, critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration and more.
Columns written by the Stentor writers express their own opinions and are not necessarily aligned with those of the College. Corrections are made as soon as possible. All photos included in this issue follow copyright and fair use laws. Letters to the editor are welcomed and will be published if they are 500 words or less, contain the author’s name and signature. Letters will be checked for accuracy, and letters that contain libel, obscenity, or invasion of privacy will not be published. The deadline for submission will be one week before the publication date (submit letters to the Stentor contact).
