With team captains Caitlin Mulcahy, Theresa Presburg, and Anna Hoffman, the women’s soccer team has opened the season with a dominant stretch, boasting a 9-game win streak to start the year (9-0 record). The team’s connection and chemistry on the field are as strong as it is off the field, which has helped them to get where they are in the rankings.

Junior center defender Gianna Logue credits the team’s success with their chemistry, saying,

“You have a lot of success when you’re playing with your best friends, and this year’s team really showcases how close we are as a team”

Maggie Balas, a sophomore left winger, shares a similar sentiment, saying,

“I have never enjoyed being with a group of people more, so soccer-wise and people-wise.”

With the pre-conference games going so well for the team, the players are looking forward to winning the upcoming conference matches. The team has big goals: winning the conference championship and making it to the NCAA tournament. Still, the team is enjoying playing soccer and hanging out as a team together.

Naomi Norman, a sophomore defender, says that riding the bus home after a win and playing “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” the team’s victory song, on the ride back is an important memory for her.

Caitlin Mulcahy, a senior team captain and defensive midfielder, cherishes these moments,

“Being a senior this year, I have taken in a lot of the little things, like listening to music on bus rides, being in the training room before practice, and laughing with the coaches and teammates.”

Head Coach T.R. Bell, who is celebrating his 300th win this year, praised the squad.

“This group is really easy to be around and coach,” he said, “we have some very talented players, but more than that, we have great people.”

Please go support the women’s soccer team at their home games, and their senior game on the 25th of October!
