Every spring break, some of the Lake Forest College spring athletic teams travel south to play their respective sport in the warm weather. A lot was on the line at the women’s basketball game on February 20, 2016. It was Senior Day and if they were defeated, it would be their last game of the season. The Midwest Conference released its 2015-16 all-conference men’s basketball teams on Thursday and, for the second straight season, Lake Forest College’s Jim Schick was a Second Team selection. The Midwest Conference released its 2016 Softball Preseason Coaches Poll and season preview on Friday and Lake Forest College was atop the list. The Foresters were also ranked 20th in the country in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Preseason Poll. Voting for the league’s preseason poll is done by the MWC head softball coaches. Michelle Greeneway was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Year for the second time in her career on Thursday. Four teammates joined her on the All-NCHA Team and another earned a spot on the league’s All-Freshman Team.
