One thing has been made clear from the start of 2026: new music is on the way. With only one full month checked off the calendar, there have already been a variety of new releases, from artists like J. Cole to bands like Megadeth. But who else can we expect music from for the rest of the year?
Bruno Mars will release his new album “The Romantic” Feb. 27. For the past decade, he has worked on many collaborative projects, including the song “Die With A Smile” by Lady Gaga and the Silk Sonic album “An Evening With Silk Sonic.” However, this will be Mars’ first solo album since 2016. If the lead single “I Just Might” is any indication, then fans can expect the classic Bruno Mars style they know and love.
Mitski will release her new album “Nothing’s About to Happen to Me” Feb. 27. Two singles, “Where’s My Phone?” and “I’ll Change for You,” set an artistic tone for the album. Mitski’s eighth studio album is shaping up to be an intuitive narrative continuation of her alternative sound.
Gorillaz is joining the new-music lineup Feb. 27 with the release of “The Mountain.” This album will feature vocals in five different languages, from a whole lineup of collaborating artists. The lead single, “The Happy Dictator,” is a great example of how their signature blend of alternative rock and hip-hop is expected to grow and evolve on this diverse record.
Harry Styles is making a highly anticipated comeback with his album “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally” March 6. The single titled “Aperture” seems to mark a musical turn for him. As Styles leans into the electronic pop sound, he calls for listeners to put on some comfortable shoes, run a couple of marathons and get ready to dance.
Noah Kahan, known for his folk-pop sound and inspired lyricism, will release “The Great Divide” April 24. The title track is a promising sneak peek of the album and seems to be a continuation of his cozy aesthetic. If you’re looking for a soundtrack for a scenic hike, a long road trip, or crying at a bonfire, this album might be for you.
Releases by the artists above are just the start. It’s also worth noting that many artists have teased new releases. Although no release dates have been confirmed yet, Olivia Rodrigo, Madonna and Beyoncé are all rumored to release albums at some point this year. Be sure to keep an eye (and ear) out for all the new music of 2026.
