Independent artist and Chicago native, Huron John, released his latest single, “Common Ground” on March 17 as part of his upcoming LP Cartoon Therapy album. The staff at the Stentor recently covered Huron John’s February release of the song “Arthur,” and just like his average 400,000 monthly Spotify listeners, we have been eager to stream his latest work.
“Common Ground” demonstrates the singer’s leading talent for self-examination and enthusiasm for producing songs that are both relatable and uplifting. Huron John’s latest single captivates his audience with its lyrical presentation of how we cope with our own feelings of insecurity and self-doubt. His creative success is largely in part due to his thought-provoking lyrics coupled with groovy tones any listener can dance along to. “Common Ground” emphasizes the question of the struggle to identify where we place our self-worth in the pursuit of someone we set high on a pedestal. Listening to Huron John, it is clear his music offers layers of high production value music and a variety of his personal ideas expressed in song. It is a rarity to find music that is so intimate while still being upbeat. The high praise of this indie artist, from across all sectors of the music industry proves Huron John’s latest single will remain on repeat in our music queue for all of 2021.
