With the majority of students back on campus and in the full swing of the semester, Student Government looks forward to working more closely with the student body. Student Government Vice President Alec Macartney ’24 spoke with Stentor staff regarding Student Government’s upcoming initiatives planned for the rest of the spring semester.
- On March 8, Student Government received confirmation that their pass/fail initiative from the fall 2020 semester will roll over to our current spring semester.
- Senate Elections will be taking place on March 15 and 16. Student Government encourages everyone to take part in voting for their new senate.
- Starting Wednesday, March 24, the newly-elected senate will host senate meetings in webinar form. The meetings will be every Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. Macartney shared the senate meetings are a great chance for the student body to hear what the senate has to say as the senators and executive board discuss student concerns and possible improvements.
- Noting that focusing on mental health is an important aspect of any student’s college journey, Macartney shared that “Student Government wants to find ways to support our community.” He stated that the executive board is currently advocating for the enhancement of services and programs that support students’ mental and physical well-being and that they will be looking for ways to implement mental health days.
Any students that may have questions, comments, and/or concerns, are encouraged to reach out to any of the executive board members.
