Tyler Armentrout ’18 and Jeremy Edelson ’18 are starting a new social media company and app for those involved in live entertainment, like concerts and sporting events.

Armentrout and Edelson were assigned a project for an entrepreneurship course taught by Professor Clemenson last spring. The pair, who knew each other before coming to Lake Forest College, developed a business plan, and as the process interested them, decided to run the project in the real world.With the help of personal financing and connections, they began to kickstart their company.

Edelson suggests finance majors should “take the ENTP 120 course, as it shows you how to take an idea, test its viability, and present it to potential investors to make your dream of being an entrepreneur come true. Don’t close any doors before you have explored them.”

Armentrout also shared some words of advice with fellow Foresters interested in entrepreneurship and looking for a business partner: “finding someone who completes you as an entrepreneur and has had similar obstacles like you will save you a lot of time. Also, come up with three innovative ideas a week. [Sometimes, these ideas] will germinate into viable concepts.”
